Associate Professor Rina Shahrullah, Ph.D of Law Faculty, Universitas Internasional Batam participated in International Humanitarian Law Course 2019 in Batu, Malang on 19-23 August 2019. The course was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and International Relations Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). The purpose of the course is to provide an understanding for lecturers or teaching staff from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences as well as related practitioners on international humanitarian law. The course materials cover an Introduction to International Humanitarian Law, the ICRC Mandate and Activities, International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law, Classification of Conflicts and Their Legal Implications, People and Objects Protected by IHL, Direct Participation of Civilians in an Armed Conflict, the Implementation of IHL in Indonesia, the Enforcement of International Humanitarian Law,  Multinational Forces and IHL, Terrorism, Foreign Fighters and IHL, Protection of Medical Personnel and Clergy, Protection of Cultural Property during the Period of Armed Conflict, Weapons Convention: Nuclear and New Technology Weapons and the Linkage of Islamic Law with IHL. Approximately 45 participants from state and private Indonesian universities including two participants from Timor Leste university and the Repubika journalist.  Assoc.Prof.Rina Shahrullah was also given an opportunity to share her collaborative research with Ms.Putri Andini (Kanwil Kementerian Hukum & HAM Provinsi Kepulauan Riau) on Child Soldiers Case In Ituri, The Democratic Republic Of Congo.
